Since the onset of COVID-19, countless residents have found themselves unemployed, working
reduced hours, or simply unable to leave their homes. As the situation has persisted, many people have been uncertain as to how they will be able to afford to care for their pets. In order to meet this need, the Sacramento SPCA launched the PawPantry – a twice-weekly, free drive-through pet pantry. Since March 31st, residents have been able to come to the shelter every Tuesday and Friday to pick up free dog food, cat food, and kitty litter without ever leaving their cars. Additionally, the Sacramento SPCA began delivering pet food to seniors who cannot leave their homes.
Since March 31, 2020, the PawPantry has served over 219,000 meals to 31,200 animals!
As a real estate brokerage, we know that nothing makes a house feel quite like a home like a four-legged friend! COVID-19 has had a tough impact not only on people, but also pets! We are thrilled to be a part of the PawPantry initiative and look forward to helping feed more dogs and cats in the Sacramento area!
Anyone can visit the drive thru #PAWPantry taking place at the Sacramento SPCA located at 6201 Florin Perkins Road in Sacramento.
